Traveling is the Ideal Time to Blog

I’m sitting in the grand hall of the Chicago Union Station right now and I just ate a really mediocre, borderline disgusting sandwich. The sandwich part has absolutely nothing to do with anything but I’d just thought I’d share. I’m mainly typing this blog entry up because I’m using my computer to charge my phone but also because I felt like writing. I like writing when I travel. Traveling gives you time that you essentially have no control over. When I travel, I can’t beat myself up for not using my time productively to do things like laundry because well, that would be really freaking weird if I started doing laundry in the middle of a bustling train station (note to self: possible social experiment?)
Now, I’m on the train (to Michigan).
I was really confused about where I was supposed to board so I asked the lady at the information desk. She told me but for some reason I didn’t believe her. I wandered around the station for a bit more and then decided I better double check where my train was departing from. I got back in line for the information desk but I couldn’t remember if it was still the same lady I had asked before. I got nervous that she would be mad that I was asking her again or that she would know I didn’t trust her. Instead, I eavesdropped on a group of girls who were getting on the same train as me and followed them (not in a creepy way).
I’ve been riding the train for about 4 or 5 hours now.
The train has stopped and I can hear clinking doors and rustling wrappers and an awful screeching noise that means an announcement is going to be made.
“We are doing a wheel inspection” is the announcement.
I like writing where I just report my musings and don’t try to make sense of them. Lately, I’ve been trying to make sense of too many things. Things that do not have answers. Or at least answers that I want to know.
Here is a list of things I do not understand:
– Sport fishing
– Religion
– Why I continue to use my Walmart coffee mug
– Certain people
– Pigeons
– Gluten-free pancakes
Anyway, I need to get back to my English assignment in which I am attempting to “break” the internet. It’s good fun.
So long for now, I’m sure I’ll have more to say on the way home.
Oh, and GO BLUE!
